Features
Cylinder lubricating oil for engines is typically drawn directly from the storage tank without a feed pump. Since there is no feed pump, the pressure drop in the consumption measurement can be very low. In this case, the KRAL OMG Volumeter with straight-through flow is the ideal choice.
Particularly with slow-running engines, the pulsation in the engine is quite high. This pulsation causes the oil in the supply line to flow back because there is no counteracting pump pressure. KRAL flow meters are equipped with a second sensor to detect and compensate for the flow direction. At low flow rates, high resolution in measurement data acquisition is very important. This is always guaranteed when choosing the OMG (up to 7,500 pulses/liter).

Features
To determine fuel consumption, the flow rate must be measured in both the supply and return lines of the fuel circulation system. This is located before the engine or generator.
The overall error (precision) of the consumption is therefore not the individual error of a single flow meter, nor the simple sum of both meters, but rather the total error derived from the Gaussian formula. Particularly during slow steaming or low-load conditions, the total error is several times larger than that of the individual flow meter.
KRAL Volumeters with an accuracy of 0.1% are ideally suited for this task. Injection systems can cause high pressure peaks in the piping, which can lead to inconsistent flow and even backflows. KRAL flow meters detect these backflows and compensate for them in the electronics.

Features
In measurements involving multiple engines or installations, single-line and differential measurements are often combined. In this case, correct calculation of flow rates and proper sizing of the flow meters are essential.
The number of flow meters determines the effort required for cabling and installation. With the KRAL Smart Solution, only one Modbus line is required, which is daisy-chained from one flow meter to the next. This means all flow meters can be connected to the Monitoring System using just a single cable.
